World Congress of Accountants to be Held in HK
The 16th World Congress of Accountants is to be held in Hong Kong from November 18 to 21 this year, its host the Hong Kong Society of Accountants (HKSA) announced Thursday.
The 16th World Congress of Accountants is to be held in Hong Kong from November 18 to 21 this year, its host the Hong Kong Society of Accountants (HKSA) announced here Thursday.
The congress, with a theme of "Knowledge-based Economy and the Accountant," would provide participating accountants with the opportunity to exchange ideas on how they can work together to provide services of consistently high quality in the public interest.
According to HKSA President Alvin Wong, approximately 4,000 delegates from 72 countries have registered for the conference, ofwhich 1,800 from the Chinese mainland.
During the four-day conference, a total of three plenary sessions, 13 workshops and two China Forums would be presented by over 70 high profile speakers from 17 countries, including Chairman of the International Accounting Standards Board David Tweedie, Deputy President of the International Federation of Accountants Rene Ricol and Chinese Minister of Finance Xiang Huaicheng.
