All government departments are required to take more effective measures to promote reforms of the administrative examination and approval process, says Vice-PremierLi Lanqing.
Li told a working conference of the State Council on Tuesday that the council would soon announce the first group of administrative examination and approval procedures that are to be eliminated, a step forward to further streamline the government's role and provide better service for people.
Li stressed while it was important to cut the examination and approval process the government should still carry out its supervisory responsibility.
The purpose of the reforms was to set up an administrative management system which suited China's socialist market economy and prevented corruption, said Li.
It was essential to boost leadership on the reforms and chief leaders of each department should be responsible for organizing and coordinating work on the reforms.
