Foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states reiterated on Tuesday their opposition to any military strike on Iraq, or any Muslim or Arab country.
Meanwhile, they urged Iraq to allow UN weapons inspectors to return in order to avoid a potential military strike.
The GCC ministerial meeting issued a statement at the end of its 84th session held in Jeddah, reaffirming the stand reached in Marchat the Beirut Arab Summit, which opposed any foreign military aggression against any Arab country.
In the statement, the GCC ministers warned that such a military strike would have dangerous results and repercussions on the regional security and stability.
They underscored the importance for Iraq to implement all relevant UN Security Council resolutions, especially those related to the release of Kuwaiti prisoners of war as well as detainees of a third country.
The ministers also underlined the importance of taking concrete steps to implement the UN resolutions and ensure non-recurrence of Kuwait invasion in 1990.
