Morocco Reaffirms Support for One-China Policy
Moroccan Prime Minister Abderrahmane Youssoufi Tuesday reaffirmed Morocco's support for the one-China policy, a principled stance China takes in tackling the Taiwan issue.

In talks with visiting Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji, Youssoufi also expressed hopes for further cooperation between China and Morocco. The two countries, which enjoy a sincere friendship basedon equality, dialogue and mutual respect, are both making efforts to promote economy at home, he said.
The prime minister praised China's positive role in the international affairs, and hoped the Sino-African cooperation forum mechanism would boost Sino-African relations in the future.
During the talks, Zhu and Youssoufi exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and the global fight against terrorism.
Zhu, who concluded a visit to Algeria on Monday, arrived in Rabat Tuesday morning for a three-day official visit. Morocco is the second leg of his four-nation Africa tour, which will also take him to Cameroon and South Africa. In South Africa, Zhu will attend the United Nations-sponsored World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg on Sept. 2-4.
