US and British warplanes fired missiles on a civil airport in northern Iraq Tuesday, damaging the traveller's building and the radar, a source from the transportation and communication ministry said.

At 13:35 and 13:40 local time (0935 and 0940 GMT), US and British planes fired two missiles on the civil airport in the northern city of Mosul, damaging the traveller's building and the radar that controlled the take-offs and landings of civil airliners, the source told the official Iraqi News Agency.
