More than 850,000 partygoers on Monday turned out for the closing stages of Europe's biggest street party, the Notting Hill Carnival in west London.
Hundreds of dancers and brightly-decorated floats paraded through the streets of west London as part of the annual celebration of Caribbean culture during the day, accompanied by numerous bands.
Police said there had been 23 arrests on Monday for drunkennessand other minor offenses, bringing the total number of arrests to 79 in the two-day event.
With about 485,000 revelers and 60 floats enjoying fine weather,Sunday's Children's Day was relatively trouble-free. There were just 56 arrests, mostly for drink and breach of the peace, with two for theft of police uniforms.
Some 10,000 officers have been put on duty during the carnival.Police have said they are pleased with the relatively low levels of crime so far.
The two-day Notting Hill Carnival, which was born more than 40 years ago, has its roots in Trinidadian and Caribbean carnivals. It has been hit by violence for previous years including two murders in 2000.
