The first air freight route between Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Chinese mainland is to be launched on Sept. 15.
According to an agreement between the UAE and China, Emirates Sky Cargo, subsidiary of Emirates Airlines, will operate a service linking Dubai and Shanghai every Sunday.
Boeing 747-400 and Boeing 747-200 cargo planes will be used.
Chinese trade experts say the air link will enable goods from Shanghai, the biggest industrial and commercial center in China, to enter Arab, European and African markets.
Trade between the UAE and China totaled 2 billion US dollars last year.
