2 Soldiers Killed in Helicopter Crash in US
US Army investigators on Wednesday began a probe over a helicopter crash on Tuesday night that killed two soldiers, Army officials said.

US Army investigators on Wednesday began a probe over a helicopter crash on Tuesday night that killed two soldiers, Army officials said.
The pilot and co-pilot of the OH-58D Kiowa helicopter were in atraining area at Fort Polk, Louisiana, where they were stationed, when the accident took place, officials said. They were taking offfrom an assembly area to conduct reconnaissance and security operations in the training mission, according to local media reports.
The helicopter is a single-engine observation or scout aircraftthe military uses primarily for reconnaissance missions.
Located about 30 miles (about 48 kilometers) from the Texas border in western Louisiana, Fort Polk is home to the Joint Readiness Training Center, where Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine units of the US military train together in simulated battle situations.
