Russian State Duma Deputy Killed in Moscow

Russian State Duma deputy Vladimir Golovlyov was killed in Moscow early on Wednesday, Itar-Tass reported.

Russian State Duma deputy Vladimir Golovlyov was killed in Moscow early on Wednesday, Itar-Tass reported.

The news agency quoted a police spokesman as saying that Golovlyov was near an apartment block on Pyatnitskaya Street when unknown attackers shot him.

The attackers escaped, while Golovlyov died on the spot.

Moscow police chief Vladimir Pronin has arrived at the scene of the crime.

Golovlyov was a member of the Union of Right Forces faction in the State Duma, or lower house of parliament.
