FBI Identifies New Associate of Sept.11 Hijackers
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) issued a nationwide bulletin on Tuesday night, seeking the arrest of a Saudi newly identified as a suspected associate of the September 11 hijackers.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) issued a nationwide bulletin on Tuesday night, seeking the arrest of a Saudi newly identified as a suspected associate of the September 11 hijackers.
The bulletin issued to law enforcement agencies across the United States sought the immediate arrest of Saud A.S. al-Rasheed, 21, from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The FBI said the bulletin was based on information developed over the last few days, and it warned police al-Rasheed may be armed and is dangerous.
The bulletin said material previously recovered was found on Aug. 15, which is related to several of the Sept. 11 hijackers. Included in the material was an image of a Saudi Arabian passport issued to al-Rasheed in Riyadh in May 2000.
The FBI has issued several alerts over the last year, most involving new terrorist threats instead of suspected associates of the hijackers.
