Urban Housing Tells Wide Price Gaps in China
As shown by investigations made, noted for a higher price rise of housing among 35 large and medium-sized Chinese cities are Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing with an average price of 6921.2, 4957.2, 4883.7, 3820.6 and 3579.2 yuan per square meter respectively.
August 14, the State Statistic Bureau released an investigation showing a gradual heating-up housing market in China in 2001 and an average 2.2 percent price rise over the preceding year.
This year there is still being seen a heat of housing market in China as shown by a 3.6 percent price rise in housing market. Meanwhile, a much higher rise of housing price has been seen in coastal areas and major cities in China's western regions.

Cities with housing at a comparatively lower price level are Xining, Zhengzhou and Yinchuan with a housing price averaging 1208.4, 1463.1 and 1484.3 yuan per square meter respectively.
Cities with their housing at an obviously higher price level over the preceding year are Ningbo, Wuhan, Hangzhou, Shanghai and Yinchuan.
Cities having a drop of housing price are Dalian, Kunming and Haikou. Shanghai has already experienced a fairly housing price rise. Yinchuan by its housing has been at an obviously higher price level than its lower past.
