China Hosts Game Theory Satellite Conference

Well-known mathematicians from around the world gathered in Qingdao, East China's coastal city on Wednesday to discuss the Game Theory and its applications.

Well-known mathematicians from around the world gathered in Qingdao, East China's coastal city on Wednesday to discuss the Game Theory and its applications.

The conference is part of the 2002 International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) in China. The plenary session of the international congress will be held in Beijing on Aug. 20-28.

Among pre-eminent scientists attending the top-level academic conference in the field of mathematics, Nobel Prize winners and creators of the Game Theory John Nash and Ryinhard Selten will make speeches on the special topic.

During their four-day meeting in Qingdao, more than 150 mathematicians from 30 countries and regions will focus on discussing the challenges, application and further development of the theory in the new century.

Since 1900, the ICM has convened every four years.
