China's industrial production maintained rapid growth in July, according to the latest figures from the National Bureau of Statistics.
State-owned industrial and non-governmental enterprises with annual sales exceeding five million yuan (620,000 US dollars) recorded a total of 256.8 billion yuan (32.1 billion US dollars), up 12.8 percent compared with the corresponding period last year.
Electronic and communication products and cars saw the main production increases. Optical-communication equipment, telephones and fax machines increased 76.7 percent. Color televisions increased 70.3 percent.
The production of cars reached 247,000 in July, up 46.4 percentcompared with July last year, with sedans and trucks rising by 73.8 percent and 70.9 percent.
Industrial exports increased rapidly in July, with exports of electronic and communication products rising by 45.3 percent.
