Vietnam Approves New Cabinet

Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) approved the new cabinet members at the current first session of the 11th NA on Thursday.

Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) approved the new cabinet members at the current first session of the 11th NA on Thursday.

In the new government, Nguyen Tan Dung and Pham Gia Khiem retain the posts of deputy prime minister, and Vu Khoan, former minister of trade, also became deputy prime minister.

Mai Ai Truc, Do Trung Ta, Le Thi Thu were elected respectively as minister of natural resources and environment, minister of post and telecommunications, chairman of the Committee for Population-Family and Child Affairs.

According to the new governmental structure, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, and the Committee for Population-Family and Child Affairs are the new ministries and ministerial-level agency of the country.

New cabinet members include 11 new ministers replacing their predecessors, and 12 others unchanged.

Ministers remain unchanged include minister of defense, minister of foreign affairs, minister of finance.
