DPRK, UNC to Hold Military Generals Meeting Next Tuesday
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United Nations Command (UNC) have agreed to hold a military generals meeting at the truce village of Panmunjeom next Tuesday.
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United Nations Command (UNC) have agreed to hold a military generals meeting at the truce village of Panmunjeom next Tuesday.
The UNC Sunday said it decided to accept the DPRK's meeting proposal which was made last Friday, the South Korean national news agency Yonhap News reported.
The DPRK's military representative at the truce village, Lieutenant General Ri Chan-bok, sent a telegram message to Major General James Soligan, the UNC deputy chief of staff, containing the proposal for discussions on the June 29 inter-Korean naval skirmish in the Yellow Sea, said Yonhap.
The DPRK's offer was a response to the UNC's repeated suggestions for such a meeting.
