US President George W. Bush will visit the Pentagon, New York City and the Pennsylvania site of the United Flight 93 crash to mark the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks anniversary, the White House announced on Friday.
"On Sept. 11, America was attacked and the president will be going to the three locations that were hit to continue to rally our nation and to mourn and to pay respects to the memory of thosewho lost their lives and to their families," White House spokeswoman Claire Buchan said.
More than 3,000 people died as suicidal hijackers crashed jetliners into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon and a thirdplane crashed in Pennsylvania.
Bush has visited the Pentagon and the World Trade Center site more than once since the Sept. 11 attacks, but he never traveled to the plane crash site in Pennsylvania.
The spokeswoman did not provide any other details about President Bush's Sept. 11 plans.
President Bush began a monthlong vacation Friday at his family's Kennebunkport compound overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Maine State.
On Tuesday, Bush will undergo his annual physical examination before departing for his ranch in Crawford, Texas, for the rest ofthe month.
Starting Friday, Bush will be away from Washington for all or much of 32 days. He returns to Washington around Sept. 2.
