Pak-China Talks Productive and Fruitful: Musharraf

"We had a fruitful and productive dialogue with Chinese leadership on matters of bilateral, regionaland international concern," Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf said on Friday.

"We had a fruitful and productive dialogue with Chinese leadership on matters of bilateral, regionaland international concern," Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf said on Friday.

Musharraf made the remarks while talking to journalists on board the presidential plane from Beijing to Islamabad, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan.

Musharraf made a stop-over and brief visit in Beijing on his way from his official visit to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka back to Pakistan. Chinese President Jiang Zemin met and had talks with him in Beijing.

About the subjects covered during his talks with the Chinese leadership in Beijing, Musharraf said that these pertained to review of bilateral, regional and international matters, Afghanistan, Kashmir, border tension with India, de-escalatory measures, and domestic matters under discussion.

Pakistan, he said, has "a special relationship" with China and "we very frequently hold consultations" as and when required.

Musharraf said China has always been helpful to Pakistan and helped the country during difficult periods.
