Supporters of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (hamas) marched through Gaza streets on Wednesday night, threatening to launch more attacks against Israel after the deadly Hebrew University blast.
Hamas has claimed responsibility for Wednesday afternoon's bombing attack in the university in east Jerusalem, in which seven people died and dozens of others wounded.
Hundreds of hamas supporters were demonstrating in Gaza City, waving green flags of the radical group and chanting slogans for more bombing attacks against Israel. Masked young men holding up arms headed the march.
"If they (Israelis) target Palestinian civilians, we will targettheir civilians. They are totally responsible for the killing and we would react the same," Sheik Ahmed Yassin, the founder and spiritual leader of Hamas, told reporters.
Earlier Wednesday, Yassin was scheduled to meet with US civil rights leader Jesse Jackson in Gaza. However, the meeting was cancelled after the bombing attack in Jerusalem.
"The Israelis and the Americans interfered to stop this meeting because they don't want to see the Palestinian people getting theirlegitimate rights," said Yassin.
