The National Assembly of ROK will vote on whether or not to confirm prime minister-designate Chang Sang, Wednesday, after the conclusion of hearings, Tuesday. Analysts note the outcome is unclear as the vote is a secret ballot, and questions have been raised on Chang's ethical responsibility. In addition there could be political fallout if Korea's first female prime minister is denied office.

At Tuesday's hearing, Chang said she signed a document concerning her personal history, which carried a mistake concerning a school name, reversing her statement from Monday that her secretary had. However her secretary insisted she had signed it. The mistake read Princeton University instead of Princeton Theological School.

In addition Grand National Party member Park Jong-hee challenged Chang over the reasons for changing her son's nationality, saying she had said it followed a warning from the Ministry of Justice, whereas her husband Park Joon-seo said it was for his convenience in studying in the US.

The GNP's Lee Joo-yong asked Chang how she could afford to send her son to the US for ten years and amass W1.4 billion in savings, when her family didn't even own a home until 1980. Park Seung-kuk commented that on Monday Chang had said her mother-in-law ran all household finances, but today had added that she personally made money from investing in bonds.
