Korea Ready to Continue Inter-Korean Dialogue: Ivanov
The Democratic People's Republicof Korea (DPRK) is willing to continue the inter-Korean dialogue and satisfied with its relations with Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov said Monday before ending his two-day trip to Pyongyang.

Ivanov told a news conference that "when discussing the situation on the Korean Peninsula, the DPRK side expressed its willingness to continue the inter-Korean dialogue and stressed that the issue of Korean reunification should be resolved in accordance with the June 15 Joint Declaration."
On the Pyongyang-Moscow ties, Ivanov said both sides were satisfied with the development of bilateral relations under the joint efforts of Russian President Vladimir Putin and DPRK's leader Kim Jong Il. "The two sides have identical or similar viewson cooperation in political, economic, cultural and other fields and on the future," he said.
Ivanov also said Russia and the DPRK "are boosting bilateral cooperation in the international arena and taking many joint stepsin the Asia-Pacific region." He said the two sides are now exerting efforts to cement economic ties beyond a solid foundationalready laid.
On Sunday, Ivanov arrived in Pyongyang, where he met with Kim Jong Il and DPRK's foreign minister Paek Nam Sun. He delivered a personal letter from Putin to Kim, which according to him "reflects the will of the Russian side to implement the agreements reached at the summit talks held in Pyongyang and Moscow in 2000 and 2001."
