The Chinese team maintained its winning momentum by storming to a 3-1 victory over the visiting Venezuela team on Sunday in the 2002 World Men's Volleyball League.

China, which defeated the opponent on Saturday, listed third inthe Pool B after the victory.

Venezuela started off well and snatched the first set with 25-22. But the home side staged a comeback in the second and levelledthe game 1-1, winning in 25-22.

In the following two sets, China produced a dazzling performance in serving and blocking and won the sets 25-21, 25-18.Venezuela did not recover from the second set defeat and made lotsof unforced errors in serving and attacking.

Di Anhe, the head coach of China, said after the match that Chinese players' blocking and serving were great.

"We didn't adopt the serving and fast-attacking of Venezuela inthe first set, but our counter-attack in the following sets were good enough to win the match." said Di.

Head coach of Venezuela Jose David Suarez also expressed satisfaction to his players and said: "In comparison with yesterday's match, we played much better today. I think Chinese players did what they have to in the key moments and we didn't keep the rhythm. China is more experienced and mature than us and they won the match. It is a good match."

Captain of Venezuela Rojas Andy said,"This is a high-level match. China threw high pressure with serves. In last three sets, China played a high-level game and they maintained it."

China will face Venezuela on next Saturday and Sunday at Venezuela, Rojas said they wished to win China in their country. "We will be more confident in our country with our people and no time difference." said Di.
