Vietnam Attaches Importance to Cooperation with China

Vietnam always attaches importance to strengthening friendly cooperation with China, said Nong Duc Manh, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, while meeting with visiting Chinese legislative leader Jiang Chunyun on Thursday.

This not only conforms to the fundamental interests of the two peoples but also is conducive to peace, stability and development in the region and the world as a whole, he added.

Vietnam will make unremitting efforts to push the friendly cooperative relationship between the two countries to a new heightin the new century, Manh stressed.

Jiang, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) of China, held that the Sino-Vietnam relationship has been developing smoothly and comprehensively under the guidance of the principle of "long-term stability, future-oriented, friendly neighborliness, and multi-faceted cooperation" set by party leaders of the two countries.

He expressed his belief that the friendly cooperative relationship between China and Vietnam will grow smoothly in the new century with the concerted efforts of the two countries.

He left here Thursday evening after concluding his six-day visit to Vietnam.
