Pyongyang to Celebrate National Reunification Day with Seoul
A civil delegation from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will fly to Seoul next month to participate in the National Reunification meeting scheduled for August 15, according to an agreement released on Wednesday.

During meetings in Pyongyang on July 20-23, the South Korean Headquarters for the Promotion of National Joint Functions and theNational Reconciliation Council of the DPRK reached an agreement to hold an August 15 meeting for National Reunification to commemorate the 57th anniversary of national reunification of the Korean nation.
The Korean people fell victim to Japan's colonial rule from 1910 to 1945 and they won independence on August 15, 1945.
The two sides also agreed to help each other ensure the success of a meeting of youth and students from the north and the south for reunification early in September, and a meeting of womenin Mid-September in Mount Kumgang, said the agreement.
It will be the first inter-Korean contact since the navies of the two sides exchanged gunfire around a disputed sea border on the Yellow Sea on June 29. Four South Korean soldiers died and onewas listed as missing in the skirmish.
