China and Vietnam Wednesday agreed to make efforts to constantly develop the friendly cooperative relationship between the two parties, two countries and two legislative organs.

The agreement was made during the meetings among newly re-elected chairman of Vietnamese National Assembly Nguyen Van An, Prime Minister Phan Van Khai and visiting Chinese legislative leader Jiang Chunyun.

The two sides agreed that the exchanges and cooperation betweenthe two legislative organs comply with the orientations of the principle of "long-term stability, future orientation, good neighborliness, and multi-faceted cooperation" set by party leaders of the two countries.

As an important part of the friendly cooperative relationship between the two countries, such exchanges and cooperation will bring the Sino-Vietnamese friendship to a new height, officials said.

Jiang arrived here on July 20 for a six-day visit to Vietnam.
