Rocket, Mortar Attacks Against Israel Follow Gaza Bombing

Israel's Public Radio reported the apparently reprisal attack following the Israeli air raid Monday night on Gaza City, which killed Salah Shehada, leader of the Ezzedin Al-Qassam Brigades, themilitary wing of the radical Palestinian group Hamas.
Fourteen other Palestinians were killed and over 100 Palestinians injured in the deadliest Israeli targeted killing, which is drawing widespread condemnation in the world.
Israeli media also reported other Palestinian retaliations earlier in the evening, saying two people were lightly injured whenfour mortars were fired at an Israeli settlement in the northern Gaza Strip.
Prior to that, Palestinians also fired a Qassam rocket at the Erez industrial zone near Gaza which did not explode, Israeli sources said.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Israeli army closed the Erez industrial zone "in fear of a terror attacks."
Almost all of the Israeli troops' outposts in Gush Katif and thenorthern Gaza Strip were attacked in the day, which witnessed dozens of shooting incidents in the Gaza Strip, according to Israeli sources.
