Taiwan Spent One Trillion Dollars on Military Purchase
According to Taiwan media, one of the "legislation committee" members of the People First Party said that Taiwan's military expenditure exceeded 1 trillion Taiwan dollars in the past 10 years, America has become its largest beneficiary.
According to Taiwan media, one of the "legislation committee" members of the People First Party said that Taiwan's military expenditure exceeded 1 trillion Taiwan dollars in the past 10 years, America has become its largest beneficiary.
Statistics shows that on Taiwan's purchase list foreign military purchase topped 92% against a mere 8% self made, the yearly budget reached 60 billion Taiwan dollars, plus some other budgets, the total sum exceeded 1 trillion Taiwan dollars.
Air force facilities formed the focus of military purchase in the past 10 years, the expenditure making up 62% of the total fund. Taiwan's air forces have bought antisubmarine planes, air-to-air missiles, new radar systems and other state-of-art weapons.
In addition, Taiwan also purchased a lot of American-made weapons including tanks, antiaircraft missiles, various battle helicopters and anti-armored rockets.
Besides air force and land force facilities, Taiwan has bought a batch of antisubmarine, torpedo, anti-helicopter and other navy weapons as well.
