US Helicopters Collide in Singapore, Killing One

Two U.S. Marine helicopters collided at an airstrip in Singapore, killing a technician on the tarmac, a US navy release was quoted as saying Tuesday by media reports.

Two U.S. Marine helicopters collided at an airstrip in Singapore, killing a technician on the tarmac, a US navy release was quoted as saying Tuesday by media reports.

No death was reported aboard the helicopters whose main rotors struck each other as they taxied to land at the air base early in the afternoon, the release said.

US military forces frequently use Singapore's airfields and naval facilities for training exercises and for re-supply.
