PRINT DISCUSSION CHINESE SEND TO FRIEND

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan Tuesday refuted a recent US report as it had "very evil motives."

Kong made the remarks in Beijing when asked to comment on the first annual report presented to the US Congress by the US-China Security Review Commission.

He said a so-called US-China Security Review Commission of the United States had issued a report which full of outdated "Cold Warmentality" and groundlessly played up "China threat".

The report also proposed irresponsibly trade and technology blockade against China, said Kong.

He said China is a peace-loving country, and China's development could only benefit world peace, stability and development.

China-US economic and trade relations had always been two-way and mutually beneficial, and the development of China-US friendship and cooperation was the common aspiration of the two peoples, said Kong.

He stressed that any unprejudiced and peace-loving people should not fear China's progress and the development of China-US relations.

China hopes that all US people of insight could have a clear idea about the detrimental effect of the report, and oppose and resist against such a report, Kong said.

He said China requested the US government to take concrete measures to eliminate the negative impact brought about by the report so as to avoid damages to bilateral relations and the common interests of the two countries.
