Province will build a pump storage plant in the eastern part of the city.
According to local sources, two reservoirs will be constructed for the hydropower project which will have an installed capacity of 1.2 million kilowatt. During slack season, water will be pumpedfrom the downstream reservoir to be stored at an upstream reservoir which will begin power generation by letting out the water at the peak season of electricity use.
The project will start construction in 2004 and the first generating unit at the hydropower station will be operational by 2009.
