Russia's growing electrical home appliances market has attracted more and more Chinese manufacturers to the annual Harbin Trade Fair.
Among the exhibitors at this year's fair, the 13th so far, weresuch well-known Chinese brands as TCL, Xiaxin, Xiahua and Xinfei.
Their brochures, printed in Russian, were sought after by businessmen from Russia. Some local manufacturers exhibited products specially designed for Russian consumers.
Xiahua, a major Chinese television maker based in Xiamen, in east China's Fujian Province, received an order at the fair and will export its products according to the Russian importer's requirements.
Some Chinese brands reportedly have been selling well in Russia,including Sinco, Changhong and Glanz.
A Russian businessman told Xinhua that Russians like Chinese-made home appliances because of their good quality and price.
Jiang Feng, vice chairman of the China Home Appliance Association, said that as competition became increasingly fierce in the domestic market, local manufacturers should look to overseas markets. Russia, where water and electricity were comparatively cheap, was a promising market for Chinese home appliances.
