Chinese Vice-Premier Qian Qichen met Friday with Romanian Prime Minister Adrian Nastase.
Qian said that Sino-Romanian relations had stood the test of time and the friendship between the two countries had remained stable.
He said that China and Romania had maintained healthy and stable relations in the political, economic and cultural fields with frequent exchanges, and contacts between the parliaments, parties and non-government organizations had expanded.
The two countries had supported each other in the internationalarena and mutual understanding and trust had been enhanced, he said.
Qian said that the Chinese government valued its ties with Romania, and would stick to the policy of enhancing cooperation.
Adrian Nastase said that Romania and China had maintained contacts and political cooperation although the situations in the two countries had changed a lot over the last decade.
Mutual trust had been built between Romania and China to help stabilize bilateral ties, he added.
He said that he would explore new ways to develop trade and economic cooperation with China.
He said that Romania encouraged cooperation between Chinese andRomanian enterprises to promote trade and economic cooperation.
The two sides exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.
