Chinese Senior CPC Official Meets Japanese Guests

Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Chi Haotian met in Beijing Thursday with Hatoyama Yukio, head of the Democratic Party of Japan.

Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Chi Haotian met in Beijing Thursday with Hatoyama Yukio, head of the Democratic Party of Japan.

Chi, also vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission saidthat it is important this year for China and Japan to boost bilateral relations, as it is the 30th anniversary of the normalization of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Chi hoped the two sides should stand tall in dealing with the issues existing in the Sino-Japanese relations. He also hoped theywill further strengthen and deepen the friendly and cooperative partnership between the two countries to achieve overall peace andfriendship.

Yukio said, with the joint efforts of both sides over the past30 years, the Japan-China relations have made steady progress in various fields.

He noted the Democratic Party, as the largest non-ruling party in Japan, will learn from history and look towards the future, contributing to a friendly and cooperative partnership between thetwo countries in the new century, Yukio noted.
