China Cracks down on Drug-related Crimes

China has launched a series of campaigns against major drug dealers and drug-related crime this year, especially targeting drug rings that have collaborated with overseas traffickers.

China has launched a series of campaigns against major drug dealers and drug-related crime this year, especially targeting drug rings that have collaborated with overseas traffickers.

Six drug dealers were executed respectively by Beijing's No.1 and No.2 intermediate people's courts Tuesday and Wednesday, an official from the Supreme People's Court of Beijing has reported.

All these people were deprived of their personal property and political rights.

The Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court Tuesday also handed down the death penalty to two Hong Kong residents involved drug trafficking, who were deprived of their political rights.


9 Drug Traffickers Sentenced to Death in Guangzhou
A Guangzhou railway court Tuesday gave death penalty or prison sentences to 14 drug dealers and traffickers.

Meanwhile, the authorities have launched a series of programs to prevent drug abuse among young people and crack down on drug- related crimes in places of recreation.
