Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said on Monday that he is "extremely pleased" with U.S. President George W. Bush's speech on Middle East.
Sharon said in a statement that when the Palestinian National Authority gets new leadership, it will be possible to discuss ways of moving forward.
The statement said that when there is a complete cessation of terror, violence and incitement, and when the Palestinian National Authority enacts genuine reforms with a different Authority to be created, then it will be possible to discuss how to make progress on the political tracks.
Bush made his long-expected speech on the American new Middle East policy on Monday, in which he called for change for a new and different Palestinian leadership before the birth of a Palestinian state.
Israeli parliament member Shlomo Ben-Ami from the Labor Party said that Bush speech will not lead anywhere.
Another Parliament Member Yossi Sarid from the left party Meretzsaid that Bush's speech is more from American vision than suitable for reality of Mideast while Parliament Member Yossi Lapid from theright described Bush speech as "the most Israel-friendly address ever given."
Israeli media believes that Bush speech is a major success of the Sharon government.
