Premier Zhu Discusses Economic Issues with Experts
Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji has presided over a workshop on the country's economic situation, on which experts and scholars aired their views on rural issues, finance and taxation, banking, foreign trade, state enterprise reforms, employment and social security, and income and distribution.
Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji has presided over a workshop on the country's economic situation, which was attended by experts and scholars from economic circles.
The meeting was held at the Zhongnanhai, where the headquarters of the Communist Party of China and the State Council are based.
At the workshop, the participants aired their views on China's economy in the first half of this year and development trends in the second half.
Their speeches focused on rural issues, finance and taxation, banking, foreign trade, state enterprise reforms, employment and social security, and income and distribution.
The experts and scholars present at the meeting were Wang Luolin, Wu Jinglian, Wu Shuqing, Huang Da, Xie Ping, Hu Angang, Lin Yifu, Fan Gang, Chen Dongqi, Lu Zheng, Jia Kang, and Ma Xiaohe.
Also present was Wang Zhongyu, secretary-general of the State Council.
