The Agricultural Rural Development Authority (ARDA) will soon set up agricultural service centers throughout the country meant to benefit communal and newly resettled farmers, according to the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation on Sunday.
The centers are expected to provide services such as tillage, irrigation and crop drying as well as input distribution.
The agricultural service centers will be strategically located to cover as many farmers as possible in a given locality with emphasis being put on business centers, growth points and rural service centers.
The centers will also provide marketing services by facilitating produce delivery to the Grain Marketing Board.
Meanwhile, the ARDA has launched a dairy project in Zaka East and West constituencies to help villagers diversify from crop farming.
It is believed that the project will help villagers make a living as an alternative to crop farming.
Under the project, the ARDA will provide dairy cows, with localmembers of parliament supervising the project.
