Two Killed, Nine Missing in Central China Coalmine Accident

Two people were killed and nine others missing when a huge amount of water broke through a coalmine in Shaodong County in central China's Hunan Province.

Two people were killed and nine others missing when a huge amount of water broke through a coalmine in Shaodong County in central China's Hunan Province.

The accident took place Saturday at around 1:00 p.m. in Shentang Coalmine near the county's Lianqiao town.

Local government has been making full efforts to rescue those missing.

The inner structure of the coalmine is rather complicated, and there is still possibility that those missing could survive, according to officials from provincial administration for coalmine production safety.
