Agricultural Ministry Calls for Restoring Production in Flood-hit Areas

The Ministry of Agriculture has issued an emergency circular calling on agricultural departments across the country to do their best to organize people to restore farm production while fighting floods.

The Ministry of Agriculture has issued an emergency circular calling on agricultural departments across the country to do their best to organize people to restore farm production while fighting floods.

Leading agricultural department officials in all localities should visit flood-hit areas with agro-technicians and help farmers get adequate seed and provide them with technical guidanceand information, the circular said.

The agricultural departments are urged to cooperate with local water conservancy departments in reinforcing embankments of rivers,ponds, canals and reservoirs.

They should also help organize water drainage from fields, rushharvesting, crop replanting and inspect pest treatment.
