Ship Carries Wreckage of Crashed Plane to Taiwan
A ship carrying wreckage from the Taiwanese jetliner which crashed on May 25 into the sea off Taiwan,left Xiamen Friday evening for Kaohsiung City in Taiwan.

The wreckage was retrieved from the sea by fishermen in Fujian Province and handed over to Taiwanese representatives Wednesday.
It comprised 12 items including four aircraft tires, two piecesof the cabin, a suitcase and a bag.
The ship is making the first direct sailing between the Chinesemainland and Taiwan. To allow the wreckage to reach Taiwan as soonas possible, Xiamen customs simplified custom formalities and dispensed with customs declaration procedures.
Since the air crash, Fujian fishermen have retrieved 12 bodies and 19 pieces of wreckage from the sea. They had handed over the bodies and seven pieces of wreckage to the Taiwanese side at sea.
