A seminar was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing Wednesday to mark the 100th birthday of Wang Kunlun, an outstanding leader of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang (KMT).

A seminar was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing Wednesday to mark the 100th birthday of Wang Kunlun, an outstanding leader of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang (KMT).
Under the influence of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Wang took an active part in the democratic movement during the early stages of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
He joined the CPC in 1933. After the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, Wang served as a member of the Government Administration Council, vice mayor of Beijing and vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). He died in 1985.
