Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat on Monday blasted U.S. National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice's recent remarks on the Palestinian National Authority (PNA).
Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat on Monday blasted U.S. National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice's recent remarks on the Palestinian National Authority (PNA).
While touring schools in the West Bank town of Ramallah, Arafat told reporters that Rice has no right to dictate to Palestinians for their future.
On Sunday, Rice said that U.S. President George W. Bush would outline his vision for peace between Israel and Palestine next week, but the administration did not see the PNA as the basis for afuture Palestinian state.
Arafat denounced the U.S. stance, stressing that "we are doing what we see as good for our people and we do not accept any orders from anyone."
Arafat, meanwhile, condemned Israel for building a security fence between the West Bank and Israel and its incursions into somePalestinian towns and villages.
"It is an aggression on our lands. It is racist, Zionist and Apartheid," the Palestinian leader said, adding that "the only thing we can say is that we completely reject it."
