Two groups of employees of Beijing's foreign-funded companies will enjoy special treatment if their registered residences are not in Beijing.

An official from the Beijing municipal government said recentlythat staff of foreign-funded companies and university graduates would not have to worry about problems concerning their residency registration as the government would complete all procedures for transferring their residency to Beijing within five working days.

According to regulations, managers and technicians with a master's degree or senior professionals, who are under 45 years old and work in foreign-funded businesses in the fields of high-tech, software, environmental protection and research, can transfer their residency registration to Beijing.

Other people who qualify for preferential policies include university graduates needed by foreign-funded enterprises.

The municipal government also issued a series of policies to attract skilled staff.
