1 Killed, 9 Injured in Pakistani Shelling

A four-year-old girl was killed and nine others were injured in overnight shelling by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border in Jammu and Kashmir, police said Saturday at New Delhi.

A four-year-old girl was killed and nine others were injured in overnight shelling by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border in Jammu and Kashmir, police said Saturday at New Delhi.

The girl was killed and four civilians, including a woman, were injured in Karmara village in Poonch district Friday evening. Nine cattle also perished.

Three houses were damaged in Karmara and Ajot villages due to shelling from across the LoC, police said, adding three persons sustained injuries in Gulpur village of the district.

Besides, two persons were seriouly injured at Bandi Chachian village when Pakistani troops targeted it with mortar and artillery fire last night.

Heavy shelling from across the border also took place in Dhargloon area of the district during the period, police added.

According to the Press Trust of India, heavy firing and shelling between Indian and Pakistani sides was also reported in Poonch district since Friday evening.
