Charity Fund for Chinese Children Keeps Rising
China Children's Charity Day received donations of 21.32 million yuan (about 2.48 million U.S. dollars) on Friday in Beijing, bringing its collection total to 70 million yuan (about 8.1 million U.S. dollars) since the project began in February this year.

The donors include five Chinese mainland cities, and such businesses as IBM China and China Unicom.
The China Children's Charity Day is jointly organized by the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and the China Children and Teenagers Fund (CCTF) to mobilize society to help school dropouts in poverty-stricken areas, especially in western China .
Sources with the CCTF said that the program, which ends on June22, has so far received support from more than 60 cities in China.More donations are expected before the campaign finishes.
According to the CCTF, all the donations will be used to help approximately two million school dropouts in poor areas of westernChina.
