Legend to Move Headquarters to Shanghai
Legend Group Corp., China's top computer manufacturer, intends to move its headquarters from Beijing to Shanghai, in east China. Yang Yuanqing, president and CEO of Legend, said that the move would happen sooner or later, and was in the interests of business development and the result of market evolvement.
Wednesday's Beijing Times quotes Yang Yuanqing, president and CEO of Legend, as saying in Shanghai that the move would happen sooner or later, and was in the interests of business development and the result of market evolvement.
The strong capital base and export conveniences of Shanghai attracted Yang and his computer-science group, which hoped to earn about one third of its total profits from the international market within ten years, the newspaper says.
"Legend will grow into a leading high-tech firm worldwide within ten years and squeeze into the world's top 500 companies," the newspaper quotes Yang as saying.
The sale value of the Legend group stood at 26 billion yuan (over 3.1 billion U.S. dollars) in 2001, which meant the company must keep an annual sales increase rate of over 25 percent to reach the threshold of 20 billion U.S. dollars for the top 500 companies by 2010, Yang explained.
