Brief Military Confrontation Between ISAF, Local Military Men in Kabul

Short tension took place at local time around 8 a.m (GMT 0330 ) Wednesday between the International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF) and local military men near the Loya Jirga site.

A witness told Xinhua that a red Toyota pickup carrying some Mujahideen was stopped by three ISAF cars on the road leading to the Intercontinental Hotel, which was about 500 meters from the Loya Jirga site.

He said that the German soldiers of the ISAF wanted to disarm the Mujahideen and some local policeman nearby came to support the Mujahideen.

After some quarrels, both side took up guns and RPG-7, a kind of rifle grenade, and stood facing each other, said the witness who was a shopkeeper, adding that the tension eased after about 10 minutes.
