Putin Wishes Afghan Loya Jirga Success
Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a message to participants of Afghanistan's Loya Jirga, wishing the council a full success, the presidential press services aid on Tuesday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a message to participants of Afghanistan's Loya Jirga, wishing the council a full success, the presidential press services aid on Tuesday.
Loya Jirga will pass "truly historic decisions in the interest of revival of Afghanistan as a peaceful, independent, united, neutral and prosperous country," says his message.
"I am confident that the most respected and wisest representatives of the much suffering Afghan people will lay a solid foundation for creation of a stable society and assuring equal conditions for all ethnic groups in the country," the president writes.
"We expect the transitional leaders of the country to continue the building of a new Afghanistan living in peace with its neighbors and the international community," he says.
Putin said Russia was ready to further develop friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with Afghanistan in various fields.
"We are prepared to continue providing every assistance to socioeconomic revival of your country, to contribute to international efforts aimed at Afghanistan's progress and prosperity," his message reads.
