U.S. President George W. Bush telephoned Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah on Tuesday to discuss ways to move forward Middle East peace process, the White House said.
U.S. President George W. Bush telephoned Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah on Tuesday to discuss ways to move forward Middle East peace process, the White House said.
During their telephone conversation that lasted about 10 minutes, Bush briefed Abdullah his meetings with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak last weekend and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon on Monday, White House spokesman Ari Fleischer told reporters.
Bush and the crown prince agreed "on the importance of additional consultation and dialogue," Fleischer said.
"They talked in general terms about the hope to make progress and discussed the ongoing efforts to bring peace to the region," Fleischer said.
They also talked about the upcoming visit to Washington by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal later this week, Fleischer added.
