Former Afghan King Mohammad Zahir Shah inaugurated the opening of the Emergency Loya Jirga in Kabul on Tuesday afternoon.

Former Afghan King Mohammad Zahir Shah inaugurated the opening of the Emergency Loya Jirga in Kabul on Tuesday afternoon.

About 1551 delegates of the Loya Jirga, which was scheduled on Monday and postponed twice to Tuesday, will elect a transitional government for the next 18 months until the first general electionin the war-torn country in 2004.
