Former head coach of the Chinese national football team, Klaus Schlappner, said Sunday in Tehran that the Chinese team lost the game against Brazil but won sympathy from outside and more respect in the football world.
Schlappner spoke highly of Chinese team's performance during the match against Brazil, one of the all-time best squads in history.
During an interview with Xinhua, Schlappner said to play with one forward and launch defense midfield was good.
Current technical director of Iran's Peykan Football Club, Schlappner said China's performance against Brazil was better than against Costa Rica.
He said Chinese players were always in the match, while adding the final result is not a problem for the team, which is making its debut in the South Korea-Japan World Cup.
The veteran coach expressed hope that the Chinese team would do very well in the next match against Turkey and score the first goal in the World Cup.
